Skårer area in Lørenskog kommune northeast of Oslo will over the next few years be developed with over four thousand new homes. The area is located only 15 minutes by train from Oslo and the proximity to the big city has made the area very attractive to residents.

Logiwaste is contracted to build the automatic waste collection system that will handle the household waste in the new area. With the system, users will easily and conveniently be able to dispose of three different types of waste; residual waste, paper, and organic waste. In addition, residual waste from businesses in the area will also be collected and handled by the system.
Waste bags are disposed using waste inlets and temporarily stored underground. At given times, the system is emptied, and the bags are transported to a terminal by means of vacuum via a pipe system under the ground. At the terminal, the different waste fractions are collected in different containers before further handling.

Innovative, low-rise terminal
Logiwaste design and delivers a system consisting of terminal equipment with compactors and containers. The system also includes parts of the pipeline where the waste is transported. Each of the property developers then connects to the system as the residential area expands.

The terminal will partly be built into the terrain and at the same time designed in such a way that it will not be an obstacle to the future expansion of the residential area. Logiwaste presented a solution with a discreet, compact terminal. This was made possible by innovative low-profile terminal equipment in combination with horizontal loading and unloading of containers.
The interior height of the terminal is minimized, and the municipality will have a solution that is space efficient and blends well with the new buildings. At the same time, the system contributes positively to the environment with an easy and convenient source sorting of household waste.
